the senior contract engineer has overall responsibility for the cost control and reporting associated with project contract administration including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

perform all relevant functions of a contracts engineer as follows: -

„acost control, monitoring, reporting and re-forecasting both internally and externally„ainvoice preparation and submission„ainvoice checking and cost coding of invoices relating to projects„aliaising with clients on invoicing issues„aupkeep / produce statistical information„aassist contracts engineer relative to budget submissions„aupkeep registers for work orders, job no's, work order queries and aged debt „aliase with accounts payable on vendor related invoices„aliase with project accounts on all cost reporting issues & audit points„aliase with purchasing department on po's/grn's etc„aupdate suppliers maintenance forms for new vendors„aupkeep of time writing system for projects [where required] ensuring all rates, hrs etc are correctly allocated in accordance with the contract„aliaise with contracts engineer to manage change control measures (change requests)„aliase with contracts engineer to manage contract variations „aliase with contracts engineer to manage commercial element of extranets„aupkeep of call off register for various subcontractors„aupkeep of purchase order tracker/register for commitment purposes„aliase with contracts engineer on commercial approval of project requisitions for inclusion within commitments„acoding of 3rd party vendor invoices

together with the following additional functions:„asupervision and training of trainee contract engineers„asupervision of contract engineers„aallocation of workload to contract engineers„aanalyse statistical information, augment as required and identify cost trends to management „aassist contracts engineer relative to budget submissions„apropose new and improved cost reporting mechanisms„aprimary contact point for project accounts for cost reporting issues„aprima
