My client is an international subsea contractor specialising in the trenching and installation of subsea pipelines and cables and due to current expansion, they have an immediate vacancy for an Estimator.

Reporting to the Proposals Manager, the role of Estimator is to support the commercial tendering process by preparing cost estimates (often to tight deadlines) for offshore trenching and construction projects.  The candidate should have good computer competency including MS Excel, MS Project and Word.

Principal responsibilities include:

• The preparation of Offshore Construction Estimates using information obtained from Engineering, Procurement, Operations and Finance departments
• Participate in final bid sign off meetings and take an active role in pricing strategy decisions
• To enhance the accuracy of estimates by applying historical information from similar jobs or work scopes
• Assist in the handover of the awarded Contracts to Projects and Finance
• Provide guidance and advice at bid stage on risk identification and mitigation of costing elements

 Ideally, candidates should be degree qualified with a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in estimating, preferably with Offshore Construction experience.
