Description:
My client, a leading Oil & Gas contractor, has an immediate requirement for an experienced Naval Architect.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Calculate and give advice/assistance in calculating vessel motions/stability/strength/lifting analysis
- Carry out stability calculations for project teams, maintenance of the vessel stability software and documentation through the preparation of stability submissions, software models, inclining experiments, displacement checks etc
- Undertake structural design calculations to class requirements in support of vessel upgrades and modifications
- Review and approve structural design calculations and proposals for temporary equipment installations and sea-fastenings prepared by project teams and 3rd party design consultants
- Liaise with asset delivery, asset technical, project teams, ship personnel and others to provide advice and guidance on proposed modifications and repairs to company vessels
- To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company quality control procedures
- To ensure the maintenance of a filing system directly related to the work undertaken to ensure accuracy of documentation in relation to naval architectural issues
- Instruction and supervision of graduate entry trainees during their period of training within the technical solutions department
Candidates must be experienced in a similar role and should have a good degree in Naval Architecture or Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering.
This is a permanent staff role offering an attractive salary and is based from my clients offices in Aberdeen.
