My client, a leading Oil & Gas contractor, has an immediate requirement for an experienced Naval Architect.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Calculate and give advice/assistance in calculating vessel motions/stability/strength/lifting analysis
Carry out stability calculations for project teams, maintenance of the vessel stability software and documentation through the preparation of stability submissions, software models, inclining experiments, displacement checks etc
Undertake structural design calculations to class requirements in support of vessel upgrades and modifications
Review and approve structural design calculations and proposals for temporary equipment installations and sea-fastenings prepared by project teams and 3rd party design consultants
Liaise with asset delivery, asset technical, project teams, ship personnel and others to provide advice and guidance on proposed modifications and repairs to company vessels

Secondary duties will include:

To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company quality control procedures
To ensure the maintenance of a filing system directly related to the work undertaken to ensure accuracy of documentation in relation to naval architectural issues
Instruction and supervision of graduate entry trainees during their period of training within the technical solutions department

Candidates must be experienced in a similar role and should have a good degree in Naval Architecture or Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering.

This is a permanent staff role offering an attractive salary and is based from my clients offices in Aberdeen.
