My client a leading master developer based in abu dhabi requires experienced diving supervisor for a urgent staff position.
Profile:
An accomplished certified commercial diver with an in-depth knowledge of wph&s issues specifically pertaining to diving operations and construction of a port and associated marine facilities. the candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills (english language) and be experienced in safety management systems and risk assessment.
Tasks:
•1. develop, implement, and enforce detailed wph&s and diving operation procedures which as a minimum will comply with adc and/or imca offshore standards and uk hse standards.
•2. implements zero accident philosophy and ensure the project es & h policy and approved contractor's safety plans are complied with.
•3. train staff in wph&s practices.
•4. supervises the dive team and ensure compliance with all relevant wph&s procedures.
•5. selection, scheduling, and training of the adpc dive team.
•6. enforcing policies and procedures that ensure safety for staff and contractors.
•7. evaluate and monitor all diving activities to ensure compliance with the diving safety procedures.
•8. responsible for all daily diving operations. required to stop any diving practice deemed unsafe.
•9. maintain open communications and working relationships with all relevant departments.
•10. responsible for training adpc's dive staff including coordinating equipment maintenance.
•11. supervise the daily operations of adpc's dive team staff including staff schedules and professional evaluations.
•12. responsible for maintaining databases and inventories and relevant reports and evaluations.
•13. maintain current certifications of all staff. maintain current he certification of all dive equipment.
•14. responsible for evaluating diving activities to ensure compliance with dive safety standards.
•15. maintain current knowledge in diving medicine especially concerning contraindications to diving and special circumstances surrounding diver medical issues.
•16. liaise with contractor's wph&s supervisors in relation with diving operations.
•17. review diving operations by all contractors.
•18. understands the contract requirements for quality and ensures contractor compliance is met.
•19. understands six sigma improvement processes and discusses opportunities for process improvements.
•20. reviews contractors weekly work plans.
•21. co-ordinates the work of the contractor with those of others having interface requirements.
•22. performs technical reviews of contractors' diving procedures and method statement, diving plans, and overall marine operations to assure compliance with all relevant contract requirements.
•23. reviews method statements, inspection/test plans to ensure compliance with the contract.
Assists in the implementation and resolution of rfis and ncrs.
Qualifications:
•· a bachelor's degree in applicable field is a strong plus.
•· must be imca/adc certified commercial diver.
•· must be certified as imca or adc diving supervisor.
•· minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
•· basic first aid
•· risk assessment training
