My Client a leading master developer based in Abu Dhabi requires experienced Coastal Engineer/Marine Engineer for a URGENT staff position.
Profile:
Will be responsible for reviewing Design Consultants and Main Contractors design and drawing submission packages in terms of technical compliance for transportation including ensuring that the submitted design takes into account safety during construction.
Tasks:
· Review all related design documents for the construction of the Port
· Collect, process and interpret all marine monitoring data
· Perform technical review of submittals related to Coastal/Marine Engineering Field
· Attend physical modelling tests that are performed for the contractor
· Prepare scope of work section for any related coastal work.· Scope of review includes hydrodynamic, waves and water quality modelling.
· Ensure that the Design Consultants produce a design based on all relevant and appropriate Specifications, Standards and Practices.
· Ensure that the Design Consultant undertakes the review and acceptance of Contractor shop drawings and materials submittals.
· Review design work or studies being carried out by others.· Prepare design programmes and assist in preparation of design budgets.
· Assist in managing consents and approvals.Provide support to the Construction Department and Field Engineering to resolve Contractor Technical Queries and resultant field changes.
Qualifications:
The candidate should be College graduate with relevant Coastal Engineering degree. Minimum 5 year experience (3 with MS):
§ Experience in design of coastal modeling and coastal protection systems.
§ Experience in the field of Construction Supervision.§ Conversant with the practices and procedures of International Design Codes and Standards.
§ Sufficient knowledge in CAD applications.
