main duties & responsibilities:an opportunity has arisen for an experienced hydraulic / mechanical maintenance technician to work within a small and dedicated team responsible for maintaining and commissioning offshore rov equipment and associated tooling technology. the position reports directly to the equipment maintenance manager and an overview of the role is as follows:the role of the maintenance technician will involve candidates working to tight timescales candidates for the delivery of a high quality product and service to a variety of internal and external clients. therefore, candidates should be familiar with delivering good service delivery in a timely and safe manner and within the guidelines set out within the company's business management system
typical duties will involve routine maintenance work of rov equipment and tooling technology, fault finding, commissioning in conjunction with the project engineers, basic administration duties (non-conformance reporting, fault reporting, product database management, work orders) and general maintenance tasks as requiredpresentationpersonal presentation : the position will require candidates to interact with people at various levels within the organisation and on occasions externally, therefore candidates should be able to demonstrate good communication and inter-personal skills communication presentation: able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing work presentation: should present work of an acceptable standard
skillsinterpersonal: the position calls for a self motivated individual who has the adaptability to work effectively as part of team and as an individual technical: should possess the ability to understand detailed engineering drawings. be able to demonstrate experience in high level fault finding on systems is expected. computer literacy is essential although additional training will be available for any job specific software packages. a working knowledge of sap maintenance module would be advantageous but is not essential self management: the individual will be required to work under limited supervision and display a high level of attention to detail.
qualifications and educationspecified qualifications for position: candidates should be educated to a minimum of onc standard in mechanical / hydraulic engineering or hold relevant industry experience with a good understanding of electrical and electronic engineering systems continuing professional development : should be able to articulate learning and training experiences
experiencetechnical experience candidates should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of working with rov systems in an offshore environment is preferred. however, consideration may be given to individuals with experience of other offshore control or monitoring equipment
specific job related requirementsphysical capabilities: manual handling location mobility: the role may require the job holder to carry out ad-hoc and occasional offshore support; therefore candidates should be willing to travel to allocated offshore worksites throughout the europe and africa region for short trips. health and fitness standards: must be physically fit for the required position with reasonable adjustments
