the position of project surveyor is reporting directly to the survey & positioning manager.

responsibilities and duties

The responsibilities of the project surveyor are assigned by the positioning and survey manager and the project manager and shall include, but are not limited to, those contained in the following statements:

Responsible for all survey activities associated with sonsub project activities including the scope of work, which shall be reviewed and approved according to applicable qa procedures. this also includes, but not limited to, documentation such as specifications, procedures, calculations, etc.

Be conversant with the technical and commercial aspects of the project relating to survey and to have a full understanding of the scope of work, as provided by the project manager.

Interface with sonsub project and engineering personnel guarantee all design work is carried out with the common target of optimising final cost and schedule.

Liaise with customer survey representatives and suppliers.

Responsible for the preparation and quality control of procedures, reports and charts.

Provide input to proposals and other commercial activities

Responsible when required for all offshore activities relevant to the task under his responsibility. this shall include offshore supervision of vessel work schedules and production, planned data acquisition and identification/ allocation of duties to other survey engineers/surveyors when not on duty.

Conduct all activities within the integrated management system policies and procedures.

Qualifications and experience

The following are the minimum qualification for the position of project surveyor.  however they are to be used as guidelines only as each individual shall be judged on their individual qualifications and experience.

 Education

University or college engineering education and/or industry training in survey engineering.

Hold current offshore (ukooa & olf) medical and survival in-date certificates.

Experience

A minimum of three years professional experience and at least three years offshore experience of survey projects involving rovs and construction with relevant survey engineering background.

Be fully conversant with industry standards relating to health, safety and the environment.
