principal installation engineer candidates should have relevant subsea/offshore/marine experience in two or more of the following areas:pipelines (rigid and flexible)risersumbilicals/flying leads manifolds & subsea structurestesting & pre-commissioningdeepwater & remote technologyinterfacesrisk & reliability
roles & responsibilities:provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice understand clients' needs; identify and address design parameters and problems; develop and implement innovative solutions independently evaluate, organise and prioritise work for self and others undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to do, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions sign and issue technical documentation as originator checker or approver, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed actively participate in relevant training and development to pursue continuing professional development ensure project fitness-for-purpose, legislative compliance and adherence to project budget & schedule train / mentor installation engineers and graduates
specific roles & responsibilities:
responsible for ensuring that standards of installation engineering services provided comply with corporate standards and client specifications along with appropriate legislation develop manhour estimates and assist planner in developing schedule for onshore installation engineering and offshore implementation to suit overall project plan, taking responsibility for delivery identify project resource requirements and liaise with engineering manager to ensure availability and allocation identify and quantify any client engineering changes to contract which will affect installation. ensure variations and deviations are recognised and processed. manage technical queries and change control requirements promote and facilitate project team awareness of company qa and hse procedures manage multi-discipline installation engineering and installation activities ensure that all procedures and methods of work developed have considered the safety of personnel and assets to minimise loss liaise with engineering manager to ensure installability of designs organise hazid studies as required during the progress of the work organise operational reviews where required to elicit inter-company input liaise with offshore construction managers/superintendent on daily basis during offshore phase of the project manage the interfaces between offshore construction vessels and sites ensure appropriate installation vessels and equipment are made available as required to perform the work offshore manage the fabrication and procurement of installation aids and equipment as required for performing the works offshore manage the development of new installation equipment and techniques as required to suit prevailing conditions manage the logistics for getting equipment and materials to the appropriate sites manage internal and external installation related interfaces
qualifications and educationgeneral education: good educational background required specified qualifications for position: must have a related degree qualification
general: experience of subsea engineering is essential technical: familiar with recognised engineering software
specific job related requirementslocation mobility: positions are based in sutton, london with travel (as required) to manufacturing facilities, fabrication yards and construction vessels health and fitness standards: must be physically fit for required position subject to reasonable adjustments
