Senior Corrosion Engineer

main duties & responsibilities:

our client is looking for an experienced corrosion engineer to join their team of materials / welding / corrosion engineers. the successful candidate will be required to provide technical support to various subsea projects

plan, produce, review and approve (as applicable specifications and related technical documents covering all materials and corrosion mitigation aspects associated with subsea structure/ pipeline design, construction and installationreview client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials, and corrosion mitigation systemsreview and approve contractor/subcontractor/ vendor corrosion mitigation systems and related documentsprovide specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines with regard to materials selection and corrosion mitigation; provide technical solution of issues within disciplinemaintain awareness of recognised industry codes and standards) relevant to corrosion and materials discipline, (eg iso 8501, dnv rp-401, bs 5493, eemua 194, norsok, etc.) providing advice and guidance on interpretation and use where appropriate

qualifications and educationgeneral education: degree in chemistry, metallurgy, materials science, or a related engineering subject specified qualifications for position: post graduate qualification in corrosion science/engineering advantageous continuing professional development: can articulate learning and training experiences

experiencegeneral: experience in corrosion protection and insulation coating selection including field joint coating systems technical: experience in performing cp design for pipelines and subsea installations. self managerial: train / mentor junior/graduate engineers
