general·develop team through coaching and generating ideas with the team manager and colleagues.
·ensure the quality of work issued is high and conforms to oed and group procedures.

•remain conversant with the latest industry developments.project support
·provide the main link between project management teams and oed.
·liase with project management teams to identify the motives for any given work request, ensure the scope of work agreed if suitable and that the task is completed within the agreed timeframe.
·assist in the preparation of tenders.
·supply technical advice on materials, corrosion protection (cp) and failure investigation to project and tendering teams.
·development of material procurement specifications.
·develop project requirements for materials manufacture and cp in accordance with current specifications and national standards and codes.
·liase directly with client technical representatives and third party technical representatives on any issues relating to materials manufacture, materials selection, cp and failure investigation.
·carry out cp design calculations.
·management of failure investigations.
•carry out subsea pipeline material selection assessments.r&d
·effectively manage on-going r&d programmes to ensure they are completed to forecast schedule and budget.
·assist in development of research and development proposal for future activities.
·consolidate company procedures and data.
•writing of technical documentation relating to research and development and consolidation activities .person specification
qualifications
essential:an oed senior materials engineer will hold a high quality honours degree in material science.preferred:post-graduate qualifications in material science are preferable.
