·ensure the quality of work issued is high and conforms to oed and group procedures.
·seek advice and input from senior engineers and team manager where appropriate.
·consolidate group experience in discipline.
•engage with more experienced team members and peers to develop an understanding of the organisation and industry trends.project support
·provide a link between project management teams and oed.
·liase with project management teams to clarify aspects of the work and complete tasks within the agreed timeframe.
·assist in the preparation of tenders.
·supply technical advise on welding, nde , materials and fabrication issues to project and tendering teams.
·development of material procurement specifications.
·advise on welding process selection for fabrication.
·advise on nde process selection for fabrication.
·develop project requirements for welding , nde and fabrication in accordance with current specifications and national standards and codes.
·development of welding and inspection procedures for project use.
·development of training or qualification requirements of project welding personnel.
·liase directly with client technical representatives and third party technical representatives on any issues relating to welding, materials, nde or fabrication.
·technical supervision and management of welding development trials.
·technical supervision of hyperbaric welding qualification activities.
·supply onsite fabrication support as and when required.
•offshore technical support to hyperbaric welding activities.qualifications (professional, technical, academic)
essential:
·an oed welding engineer will hold a high quality honours degree in mechanical engineering, material science or a related subject.
preferred:•post-graduate qualifications in material science are preferable.experience/competence/skills/knowledge
