Electrical and Instrument Superintendent

job purpose

· e & i systems implementation and maintenance

· viability and cost of any new projects or upgrades

· where a superintendent has technical responsibility for a vessel the systems superintendent (e&i) shall

liaise direct with the superintendents and retain a reporting line to the fleet technical manager.targets and budgets:

· preparing costings and schedules for upgrades and installation of new electrical and instrumentation

systems to be used on the company fleet

· working to given budgets and schedules for the implementation of upgrades and installation of new

electrical and instrumentation systems on the company fleet

key activities

· act as a specialist in his field of expertise he shall apply the following techniques, to enhance the

efficiency of the company fleet

· develop procedures to control the effective utilisation of electrical and instrument systems

· liaise with vessels to:

- install and maintain electrical and instrument systems- provide technical support for all users- co-ordinate hardware and software upgrades- train offshore personnel in the use of equipment and software as required

· liaise with vessels to:

- ensure compatibility of systems

· liaise with stores or 3rd party suppliers to ensure:

- timely forwarding of critical upgrades, spares and equipment- that software and equipment faults are reported and suitable corrective action is taken

· comply with the fleet management system (fms)

· comply with the oad management system

· responsibility and extensive control of all budgets for e&i upgrades or maintenance.

· hnd / degree qualified in electrical engineering
