Senior Metallurgist - UK, South

My Client, an International Oil and Gas Contractor require a Senior Metallurgist to be UK based.

The Role:

  • To liaise with project managers / project team leaders to ensure that there is a comprehensive understanding of client delivery needs with respect to materials
  • To ensure that all Materials Engineering Interfaces are identified and followed through to close out in accordance with the Aker Solutions Interface Management Procedure
  • To provide Material Engineering input to the development of any conceptual, FEED and detail designs of subsea structural or mechanical equipment and piping
  • To provide Materials Engineering input to the project subsea design philosophies and statements of requirements and specifications for subsea piping and mechanical or structural equipment
  • To assist the Mechanical, Structural, Pipelines and Procurement Teams as required with respect to Subsea Equipment Material specification, cathodic protection and inspection
  • To ensure a high level of technical ability and materials integrity across the subsea equipment and piping elements supplied by third party contractors;

The Person:Educated to degree level or higher in a related subject is preferred.Chartered engineer or equivalent status is preferred.Understand the specific issues arising from deep water developments.Cathodic protection design of subsea trees, manifolds, umbilicals, pipelines
