My client urgently requires the services of a Principal Engineer to work within the Welding and Materials department at their Aberdeen office.

Acting as a focal point within discipline, main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Planning, producing, reviewing and approving specifications and related technical documents covering all materials, fabrication and welding aspects associated with subsea structures
Review client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials, fabrication and welding
Review and approve contractor/subcontractor/vendor welding procedures and related documents
Provide specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines with regard to materials selection and solution of technical issues generally
On behalf of projects, liaise with client and contractor/subcontractor/vendor discipline personnel on all matters relating to materials and welding
Liaise with third party certification bodies where appropriate
Contribute to bid process
Provide support and coaching in these activities to less experienced members of team

Candidates should have proven experience in a welding and materials environment and should ideally be educated to degree level with specified qualifications for the position.

This position is based in Aberdeen but may involve travel to fabricators and subcontractors facilities.
