My client has an immediate requirement for a Senior Planning Engineer to work from their offices in Aberdeen.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the purpose of the job is to: Lead on all planning aspects of the project and work closely with and advise the Project Manager; Assist in the development and improvement of the Project Planning its Systems and Procedures; Ensures the systems, processes and reporting requirements for both in-house and external clients are properly met by adherence to the planning procedure and Ensure that all aspects of the project its vendors and suppliers are planned in full.
Key activities will include but not be limited to:
- Take an overview of the Project schedules in any area requiring resolution. Communication of these issues to Project Manager. Supervision & assistance to vendor planning engineers and planning technicians.
- Develop tender schedules.
- Interface with vendor and supplier planning personnel in all relevant matters.
- Monitoring & reporting of progress on project schedules.
- Interface with Project Manager to highlight all changes to project or tender detailed schedules.
- Supervise and assist Project Engineers on planning issues as required.
- Issue Project Manager with project close-out pro-formas to ensure continuous improvement of the department.
Candidates should have a suitable level of experience in Subsea Construction, Ship building fabrication and construction and also be technically competant in the use of Microsoft Project and Primavera P3.
The successful candidate should also be willing to travel and spend time on site.
This is a contract position based on an initial 6 month duration.
