reporting to director, transportation you will:

· lead a team of transportation professionals, currently completing high profile projects in alberta

· ensure your team provides exceptional service to clients relating to transportation planning services, including transportation master plan studies; conceptual and functional planning studies; traffic data collection and analysis; public engagement facilitation; traffic impact studies; parking studies; traffic calming studies; safety assessments; and peer reviews.

· recommend, prepare, implement, report on and monitor work plans, project/work schedules, budgets, and team utilization to meet the goals of the team.

· provide engineering support on more difficult planning and design issues.

· facilitate the preparation of documentation related to current or prospective projects; including reports, cost estimates, proposals and specifications.

· participate in business development, strategic direction and overall growth of our business.

· prepare engineering design and plans.

· review and approve technical designs in conjunction with other engineering and technical staff.

· assist with project manager duties on specific jobs, when necessary.

requirements as the ideal candidate you:

· have 10+ years' related experience in transportation planning and design.

· have a p.eng. (appega eligible) or equivalent accreditation in a related professional field.

· have experience with transportation planning and design software.

· are familiar with provincial and municipal transportation design standards in alberta.

· have experience with multi-firm, multi-office and multi-disciplinary projects.

· will provide leadership and direction with respect to performance management, training and development with strong emphasis on team goals and success.

· have exceptional oral and written communication expertise which is complemented with a keen eye for detail and project management skills.

· work well in teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
