My client is an international subsea contractor operating within the offshore oil & gas, telecommunications and utilities industries. Due to recent expansion, they have an immediate vacancy for a Project Buyer.

Principle responsibilities include:

To work in accordance with defined CTC QHSE Management Systems and be aware of H&S responsibilities to yourself and to others. Carry out those duties as identified in procedure Corp/H&S/SP1.1 (HS&E Responsibilities and Organisation).
Development and maintenance of Procurement Plan for each Project.
Updating Project Equipment Lists as appropriate with selected supplier and PO details.
Obtain competitive bids from suppliers by RFQ and ITT; tabulates, analyses bids and makes recommendations on supplier selection to secure best value for money.
Participate in/lead negotiations with project suppliers and develops suppliers and shares best practice, to maximise supply base delivery.
Assure all company’s commercial terms are met by project suppliers to minimise commercial risk.
Investigate and evaluate new sources of supply, makes recommendations based on quality, cost, lead time, service and financial stability.
Advise Project Teams in terms of available sources of supply and appropriate methods of procurement.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and potential suppliers in order to provide a value proposition and to ensure continuity and security of supply.
Develop and maintain effective communication with Project Teams and other internal departments in order to accurately understand and deliver their requirements, and to communicate any project supplier issues with regards to delivery date and/or price.
Promote company purchasing policies and procedures.
Support the company supplier management approved supplier initiative.
Carry out supplier performance evaluations in conjunction with Project Teams.
Generally assist the senior buyer in the smooth and efficient delivery of the Project and MRO procurement service to the internal customer base and provide backup for other members of department as needed.
